Putting Social Media to Work - Course Review

Social Media
16 July 2015

On Tuesday 14th July Dods Training ran a new course on the topic of Social Media. Social media is quickly becoming a prevalent front runner in the world of business. The course aims to examine how Public Sector staff can make best use of social media and the growing impact social media users are having on the Public Sector.

Perry Timms was the lead trainer for this course. Perry is a social HR Practitioner as he tweets, blogs and is active on LinkedIn. He was voted 7th in People Management magazine’s Top 20 HR power-tweeters for 2012 and one of the top 10 HR Bloggers in the 2013 update. He is currently the Adviser to the CIPD on Social Media & Engagement.

We asked Perry for his thoughts and highlights from the event.

I really appreciated Dods/Westminster Explained putting some faith in a workshop I ran on using Social Media in public sector organisations.

The first trial event was a resounding success and covered a huge array of apps, platforms, tips and techniques to really put Social Media to Work.

It's a tricky balance for public sector organisations to connect, share and produce content for the open consumption on social media channels, yet done well, social media is a key way to engage, inform and enhance how people feel about the public services they are users of.

A really deep dive into a vast and fast-paced world but a practical, applicable discovery-based learning module.

Delegate Feedback:

This course is due to run again on the 17th November 2015, book now!
