Trainer: The Rt Hon Lord Andrew Lansley 

This day starts by giving a comprehensive introduction to the NHS, examining the structure in more detail and looking at how money cascades down to front line services. The afternoon will focus on commissioning and spotting opportunities for your organisation within the NHS, finishing on looking at devolved administrations and how they run.

Participants will examine and discuss what the various changes within the NHS and will be encouraged to think about their existing knowledge of the system and how they might use this to improve how they communicate with the NHS.

Who should attend?

This workshop is aimed at those needing to understand the NHS. It’s a great starter course for anyone needing to know the routes into the NHS and to understand the complexities that surround it.

Learning outcomes

Participants will have

  • Improved their understanding of how the NHS runs in both England and the Devolved nations, including locally devolved regions.
  • Examined the structure of the organisation and be able to pinpoint opportunities within it.
  • Studied the funding model and have a better understanding of where selling organisations fit in.
  • Examined the role of the regulation and monitory organisations
