Following the result from the referendum on whether the UK would leave the European Union, the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs contacted Dods Training as they wanted us to deliver an overview of the process and implications on the UK’s exit from the EU.
Dods Training were asked to deliver a 1 day training course on policy writing for the Royal Society of Chemistry. The RSC were keen to grasp a better understanding of how to produce a policy brief which will influence policy makers.
The RPA were asked to appear in front of the House of Commons Select Committee on Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee and they got in touch with Dods Training to help with the preparations of the appearance.
PHSO was looking for a programme which combines knowledge and soft skills relating to public affairs and working with different stakeholders. Dods Training put together a proposal for a two-day training programme, focusing on the overview of Government and legislation on the first day, and stakeholder engagement skills on the second day.
GSK needed a bespoke skills building session for their team of government affairs professionals working across different countries. They approached Dods Training after identifying a suitable course from our open course offering and asked for it to be condensed and tailored to form part of their larger 3-day programme.

In October we were contacted by Highways England to deliver a tailored version of our Presentation Skills training. The staff at Highways England were keen to develop their own presentation style and build confidence.

In April 2015 Westminster Explained were asked to put together an agenda for a Plain English Writing Skills Course for staff at NHS England. The premise of the programme was to improve written communications across the whole organisation.

We were approached in 2014 by Ofgem to deliver a version of our Machinery of Government. The course was for new staff entering into the E-Serve team and for staff who were interested in hearing more about how Government works.
As part of the Getting On Board programme, Westminster Explained delivered a series of workshops on how to access decision-makers in Government and on making yourself heard in the community. This bespoke programme was for adults with learning disabilities.
